COMMUNITY EVENTS

We believe that building community begins with building relationships. In the church building, we offer free weekly and special events. Anyone from the community is welcome at any time.

We also participate and help plan many community events throughout the year.

WEEKLY EVENTS

The Community Meal meets weekly on Sundays at 6 pm. It is always free. All are welcome to this weekly event.

BLOCK BASHES

These are new to the community partnerships in the Tates Creek corridor area. These will happen in low income apartment complexes that have had community pop-ups (see below). These will be another avenue in building community.

COMMUNITY POP-UPS

These are a partnership between Grace United and several agencies in the Tates Creek Corridor Area including Millcreek Elementary, Prichard Committee, Fayette County Public Schools, Lexington Health Department, Tates Creek Elementary, and Lexington Housing Authority. These are geared towards lower income housing in the Tates Creek Corridor Area. Transportation for people who live in these complexes can be challenging so a “mini-festival is brought to them. Pop-up tents are put-up and food, activities, resources, and music are offered. These also provide a way for the complex to build community with each other. These were originally funded by a National Episcopal Church grant.

LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY

We support those in the LGBTQIA+ Community Events including Pride Festival and providing meals twice a year for the SIP (Seasoned Independent Persons) monthly dinner at the Pride Center. We will also provide space for LGBTQIA+ community events. The most recent was the Queer Car Workshop Car Inspection. If you are interested in holding an event on our grounds or in our community room, give us a shout at graceunitedlex@gmail.com.

TATES CREEK CORRIDOR COMMUNITY EVENTS

We love meeting our neighbors during the year by being part of community events in the Tates Creek Corridor Area.
